Abstract: "School for Life" and a review of the life and work of musicians represent a project activity related to the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of Ludwig von Beethoven. The activities were based on new school reform with a sudden on informatics, while the instructions for reassessing the project from the European community of Europeana had an emphasis on STEAM activities. STEAM activities connect the skills and abilities of pupils who have attended fifth and sixth grades in several subjects such as History, Mathematics, Music, Computer science, and English. Using the “School for Life” on the voter was on the development of tensile skills that were combined with the name of an intermediate theme. Europeana instruction was used as the initial basis, which was expanded with the available digitalized literature containing data important for the life of the musician himself. The paper used a micro-method where each pupil had an independent activity in which he demonstrated his or her skills and abilities. The second part was about editing these works, and the third part involved presenting them at school. Innovation was seen in adapting content on all electronic devices and using applications that made certain tasks easier for students, thus giving a modern interpretation of the Ode to Joy, the anthem of the European Union. Realization of activities by connecting work in class, individual work, integration of all project activities, using existing resources, available Wi-Fi networks, tablets, and laptops, which we received as part of the school project, saw the possibility of realization and peculiarities of work in a virtual environment. We have tackled unexpected tasks using previously acquired skills and combining knowledge in various subjects. Our “School for Life” reform is in its second phase and has been going on since 2017. age. In this case, the history subject does not end until September 2021. when all grades of primary schools will have new textbooks, made according to the same criteria.

Abstract: Soil acidity is one of the major yield-limiting factors for crop production worldwide, particularly on highly weathered and leached tropical soils. Different reports have indicated that there is significant soil acidity coverage in Ethiopia, particularly in the western part of the country; soil acidity is a well-known problem limiting crop production and productivity. As part of the solution to such problem in soils, combined application of lime and VC on maize has not been investigated in the area, in which maize was one of the potential cereal crops in the area. Field experiment was conducted at Lalo Asabi district in western Wollega during 2019/20 cropping season to evaluate the responses of acidic soil to the combined application of lime and vermicompost (VC). The experimental treatments were five rates of lime (CaCO3) (0, 25, 50, 75, and 100% of lime requirement (LR)) and three levels of vermicompost (0, 2.5 and 5 t ha-1). The treatments were arranged in factorial combinations in randomized complete block design with three replications. One composite surface soil samples from a depth of (0-15 cm) were collected from the experimental field before commencement of the experiment. A total of fifteen composited soil samples were also collected from each plot and then composited by replication to obtain one representative sample per treatments for determination of selected soil physicochemical properties. The soil analysis results revealed that soil pH increased from 5.1 (strongly acidic) to 5.8 (moderately acidic) while exchangeable acidity decreased from 2.44 to 0.31 cmolc kg-1 under combined application of lime at 75% LR+2.5 t VC ha-1, which resulted in improvement of others selected soil physicochemical properties. This study indicates combined use of lime and VC could ameliorate the adverse effect of soil acidity at Lalo Assabi district.

Abstract: With the rapid development of industrialization, the pollution of nickel-containing wastewater produced by non-ferrous metal smelting is becoming more and more serious. In order to meet the urgent requirements for the discharge of nickel-containing wastewater, effective and economic treatment technologies and materials are pursued. The experiment used natural kaolin as the main raw material was calcined at 500°C and combined with natural zeolite. Through orthogonal test, the calcined kaolin and natural zeolite 2: 1, N-2-aminoethyl-3-aminopropyl trimethoxy silane coupling agent (KH792) was used to modify the composite sample to obtain the modified composite kaolin adsorbent. XRD, SEM, BET and FT-IR were used for characterization before and after modification. It was found that the amino functional groups in KH792 were successfully grafted onto the surface of the composite kaolin. After modification, the specific surface area of composite kaolin increases from 9.522m2/g to 13.517m2/g, and the pore size expands from 10.022nm to 15.143nm. The adsorption performance of Ni2+ and its influencing factors were studied by using modified composite kaolin. Through the study, it was determined that the concentration of Ni2+ of 30 ml test water was 80 mg·L-1, and the modified kaolin was added 0.2g and adsorbed for 240 min at 25°C and pH 5.45. The removal rate increased from 54.9% to 99.94%. The adsorption process follows the quasi-second-order kinetic model, and the adsorption isotherm corresponds to the Langmuir model.

Abstract: A nation’s economic development can be measured by the capacity to effectively and efficiently convert energy resources into useful energy. Solar energy is an abundant energy in our country all year long. Burkina Faso is a country which has a very significant potential for sunshine almost all year round. Therefore, it is advantageous to create devices that will work through this energy resource. These devices can be used for many applications in thermal solar field like heating, cooking and drying. The parabolic trough type dryer is a device consisting of three elements: the concentrator, the collector and the drying chamber. It produces heat through the flow of air by natural convection within it. This device has the role of drying agricultural products. In this work, our task was to carry out temperature measurements of the air inside the parabolic collector solar dryer to determine the types of agricultural products that it can dry. The thermal behavior of the air inside the parabolic solar collector dryer is analyzed. The results show that the temperature of the air at the inlet of the collector increases by 9°C after passing through it and then decreases slightly before reaching the drying chamber. The difference in air temperature between the positions of rack 1 and 2 varies between 2°C to 3°C.
