Abstract: The regular development of the new crown epidemic has led to a change in the teaching mode of universities around the world, with teaching using the Internet as a medium to transform from offline classes to online teaching classes, a phenomenon that brings new opportunities and challenges for the development of teaching in humanities general education courses. As humanities general education courses have a good foundation for online teaching, this provides certain advantages for their online teaching. The lack of offline monitoring and classroom practice by teachers can deprive the humanities general education classroom of its interactive dynamics and collaborative atmosphere. In this regard, the teaching of humanities general education should be based on the online-offline flipped class model, combined with the teaching characteristics of humanities courses, to explore educational and teaching reform paths. Special attention should be paid to the aesthetic practice process of humanities subjects, and the transition from "theoretical" teaching to "practical" teaching should be completed. Teachers should also make use of the SPOC platform and the 'flipped' second classroom to achieve dual teaching lines and create a multi-dimensional teaching space. In terms of teaching monitoring, dynamic management and supervision of online teaching quality can be achieved through in-class and out-of-class collaboration.

Some Impacts of France and Us Education on the Higher Education System in South Vietnam (1956-1975)

Abstract: In 1954, America supported Ngo Dinh Diem to establish in South Vietnam the US henchman government with the name of the Republic of Vietnam. The US had made efforts to aid the government of the Republic of Vietnam to strengthen its military, economic and political strength as well as invest in educational development, including higher education to solve the problem of human resource training to serve the “regime” and conduct research on practical issues of social life in South Vietnam to serve American goals. One of the salient features of higher education in South Vietnam is the influence of two trends, French and American education. In the years of 1956-1964, higher education in South Vietnam was heavily influenced by French higher education in terms of system structure, content, training programs and methodologies. Since 1965, the practical values and pragmatism of American higher education have been shaped and become obvious in the higher education model of the Republic of Vietnam. From clarifying the factors affecting the formation of higher education in South Vietnam, the article focuses on explaining some influences of French and American education in geoeducation in South Vietnam on the aspect of system structure. At the same time, the article also gives comments and evaluations on this issue.

Abstract: The original aspiration and mission of the Chinese Communists is to seek happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation, which requires generations of Chinese (including college students) to relay it. In view of the fact that college students are the backbone of promoting the great cause of national rejuvenation, it is urgent for universities to strengthen Campaign for “Stay True to Our Founding Mission” (hereinafter referred to as CSTOFM) to cultivate new talents of the times. By searching the relevant literature in CNKI, it is found that there are not many studies on integrating CSTOFM into the ideological and political education in universities. 70.2% of students in some universities believe that the party's original aspiration and mission are not integrated into the ideological and political courses or professional courses. Aiming at the current situation of insufficient CSTOFM in the universities, it is necessary to accelerate the integration of CSTOFM into the ideological and political education of college students, and guide the college students to inherit and practice the original intention and mission of the party. We must grasp the era value of integrating CSTOFM into ideological and political education in universities from the perspective of cultivating college students to strengthen their ideals and beliefs, implementing the fundamental task of building moral education and gathering youth power for national rejuvenation. In the new era, the universities should promote the integration of CSTOFM into the ideological and political education through the path of curriculum education and teaching, practical education and teaching, and university culture construction.

Abstract: Since the mid-1980s, colleges and universities in China began to establish psychological counseling centers. Based on the experience of the United States and other developed countries, psychological counseling centers have developed rapidly, attracting a large number of college students to take the initiative to examine and strengthen their mental health literacy. The specialization and standardization of psychological counseling in colleges and universities have been significantly improved, and the demand of students continues to grow. The current professional human resources in colleges and universities are difficult to meet students' expectations for services, leading to students' doubts about the ability of psychological intervention. The situation of domestic localization lies in the close connection between psychological counseling and student-industry system. This feature can be fully used to create an atmosphere of psychological education, strengthen the psychological education function of colleges and universities, and provide students with reliable services. The psychology major and mental health education level of University B are both in the forefront of Chinese universities. Besides, psychological counseling and related organizations in University B are abundant and have their own particularities. Therefore, taking University B as an example, based on the interview of teachers in three psychological counseling organizations of different levels and nature. This study explored a more suitable path for the cooperation between psychological counseling and student affairs management with construction of psychological education system, student affairs teachers' psychological training, development of students' psychological organization power.

Advancing a Framework for STEM Caring Intelligence for Academic Administrative Leadership to Broaden Participation: Perspectives of HBCU Provosts

Abstract: Concerns over student retention and development within science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) higher education present a need for research that examines educational caring in STEM leadership. This work purports that senior academic administrative leadership's positional influence and caring intelligence are necessary to cultivate and sustain caring STEM environments. Building on cross-disciplinary scholarship on academic caring, the STEM Caring Intelligence Framework for Academic Administrative Leadership is proposed as five interrelated dimensions of caring intelligence: STEM caring, academic caring, administrative caring, leadership caring, and champion-driven caring. The proposed conceptual framework and a thematic analysis were used to examine caring intelligence within the interview transcripts of seven provosts at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), who were identified as STEM supportive. Atlas TI software was used for management of the data, coding, and assistance with thematic analysis. Extending previous scholarship tested with HBCU deans, the findings substantiate the relevance of the framework for understanding characteristics of STEM caring intelligence of provosts serving as chief academic officers. All seven provosts’ reflections on STEM leadership promoted at least one of the five dimensions of caring intelligence that were proposed in the framework. STEM caring and champion-driven caring were found to be the most common dimensions present in the provosts’ reflections on their STEM leadership and efforts to broaden participation. Thus, the reflections of the participating HBCU provosts provided a narrative for the practice and study of caring in STEM leadership. Implications for future research are discussed.
