Mechanical transmission and control technology is widely used globally in various fields of mechatronic system such as industrial automation, robotics, precision machining, medical equipment, and military weapons. The mechatronic system is composed of mechanical structures, transmission mechanisms, driving motors, controllers, and sensors, and these components' performance directly determines the mechatronic system's control performance. When designing a mechatronic system, the drive motor and sensor are often selected, so their performance indicators can be well guaranteed. The mechanical structure, transmission mechanism, and controller need to be designed, so the performance indicators of these parts are difficult to guarantee. The design goals of mechanical structures are lightweight and high stiffness, the design goals of transmission mechanisms are high transmission accuracy and stiffness, and the design goals of controllers are high control bandwidth and good stability. Many scholars have researched these devices, which has led to significant development of this technology. Currently, it is developing towards design technique of reconfigurable, lightweight, high-precision, high steady-state, and low power consumption.
The primary goal of this special issue is to provide a communication platform for scholars worldwide on the mechatronic servo system. We invite contributions that explore performance improvement of mechatronic system, with particular interest in reconfigurable/lightweight design of mechanical structure, high-precision modeling of kinematics/dynamics of transmission mechanism, high-precision servo control, and motion control planning in mechatronic system.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Reconfigurable/lightweight design of mechanical structure
  • High-precision modeling of kinematics/dynamics of transmission mechanism
  • High-precision servo control of mechatronic system
  • Motion control planning of mechatronic system
  • Types of articles welcomed: Original research articles, review articles, case studies, etc.
    Through this special issue, we aim to expected outcome or contribution of the special issue to the field. We welcome researchers from various disciplines to provide interdisciplinary perspectives. Your contributions will play a crucial role in advancing knowledge in this field.
