This special issue intends to focus on smart tourism and tourism geographic information system (GIS) research, including construction of smart tourism system and its key technology, tourism big data mining, tourism informatization construction, tourism geographic information system and its key technology, tour route planning method and technology, and deep merges with other disciplines. It specifically aims to promote the development of tourism and geography discipline, and the merges of interdisciplinary on intelligence science, big data science, geographic information science and tourism science, explore new development direction and technology of tourism and geography science, and apply new methods and thoughts of intelligence science, data mining frontier and geographic information science to solve the problems of smart tourism construction and tourism geographic information system construction, and provide theoretical foundation as well as research platform for interdisciplinary merges.
