Abstract: Based on the reality of rural revitalization and the need of rural economic construction for "three rural" talents, we intend to better cultivate planning talents and adapt to the inevitable trend of rural development spatial planning. This study comprehensively summarizes five problems and causes of Rural Development Planning in teaching contents. Through literature research and teaching practice, we found that Rural Development Planning, a core course in Agricultural and Forestry Economy Management, aims at cultivating applied planning talents who serve revitalizing the countryside. That coincides with the current demand of rural production, living, and ecological space planning. It has been found that there was single teaching method, emphasis on theory over practice, negligence on teaching methods by some teachers and weak professional practice, evaluation system and teaching evaluation system. Combined with the training goal of applied undergraduate talents, it is supposed to propose to diversifying teaching methods, correlating the theory with practice, optimizing faculty structure, combining teaching practice with base construction and reforming teaching assessment methods and improving teaching evaluation system.
