SH-wave propagation in a viscoelastic sandy layer lying over an anisotropic half space is investigated. Imperfect interface is considered. The problem consists of determining displacement field and then obtaining frequency equation for SH-wave in closed form by adopting variable separation method. Effects of parameters like imperfection, sandiness, dissipation factor on phase velocity is examined by analyzing dispersion equation graphically. MATLAB software has been used to plot the graphs. The present study may find useful applications in earthquake engineering, geophysics and civil engineering.
