About This Special Issue
In rapidly evolving landscape of health care, medical education plays a pivotal role in preparing the next generation of doctors with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide optimal patient care. A crucial aspect of medical education is laboratory medicine, which encompasses a broad range of diagnostic techniques and technologies that aid in disease diagnoses, monitoring and treatment. To empower MBBS graduates with the latest advancements in laboratory services, we propose the creation of a special issue journal titled “Cutting edge Approaches in Medical Laboratory Education”.
The primary objective of this special issue journal is to bridge the gap between traditional medical education and the ever expanding realm of laboratory medicine. It aims to provide a comprehensive platform for disseminating knowledge, research findings, and innovative approaches related to laboratory services in current medical practices, specially tailored to meet the needs of new medical students. By doing so, this journal strive to equip them with the necessary skills and expertise to efficiently and professionally utilize laboratory services in their clinical practice. The focus will be to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring the doctors are well prepared to utilize the laboratory services efficiently and professionally in their clinical practice.
The proposed journal will encompass a wide range of articles, including original research, review papers, case studies, and expert commentaries, all focused on various aspects of laboratory medical education. The journal may include topics related to:
(1) Advances in laboratory technology and techniques like molecular diagnostics, next generation sequencing, point of care testing and automation, enabling MBBS students to stay abreast of cutting edge methodologies
(2) Integration of laboratory medicine in the medical curriculum
(3) Competency based training and assessment
