01About This Special Issue

Advanced optoelectronic functional materials are the core foundation of modern photonics, sensing, energy conversion and information technology. Benefiting from material structure engineering, defect regulation, interface design and plasmonic modulation, wide-bandgap semiconductors, two-dimensional materials, perovskites, plasmonic nanostructures and organic/inorganic hybrid materials have exhibited novel optical and electrical characteristics, greatly promoting the development of high-performance photodetectors, light-emitting devices, solar cells, optical sensors and integrated photonic chips.
This Special Issue of Optics aims to collect original research articles and comprehensive review papers that report the latest progress of advanced optoelectronic functional materials, focusing on the correlation between material microstructure, optoelectronic properties and device performance. Both experimental investigations and numerical simulation works are welcome. We hope this Special Issue can provide a platform for academic exchange and inspire new research ideas in this field.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  1. Synthesis, epitaxial growth, nanofabrication of optoelectronic functional materials
  2. Structure–property relationship, carrier dynamics, light–matter interaction mechanism
  3. Wide-bandgap semiconductor optoelectronic materials and devices
  4. Plasmonic nanostructures and their modulation on optoelectronic devices
  5. Two-dimensional materials, van der Waals heterostructures and perovskite optoelectronic materials
  6. Optical characterization methods: steady-state and transient spectroscopy, photoelectric testing
  7. Numerical simulation of optoelectronic devices
  8. Photodetectors, LEDs, photovoltaics, optical sensors, photonic integrated devices
  9. Interface engineering, defect engineering, stability optimization of optoelectronic devices
  10. Emerging applications of optoelectronic functional materials in environmental monitoring, defense and optoelectronic systems

Types of articles welcomed: Original research articles, review articles, case studies, etc.
Through this special issue, we aim to collect cutting-edge research and comprehensive reviews to promote the development of novel optoelectronic functional materials and related optoelectronic devices.
