Most of the people in the Indian state of Tripura rely on agriculture as a means of subsistence. The pattern and kind of farming in any given area are highly dependent on the distribution of rainfall, which in turn changes dramatically over time and location. Planning irrigation, managing water resources, and making full use of rainwater all benefit from accurate information on seasonal and yearly long-term patterns of rainfall. This study used non-parametric tests, specifically Sen's slope estimator test and Mann-Kendall test, to analyse trends in seasonal and annual rainfall data series for selected stations in Tripura. For a total of fifteen sites spread around the state, monthly meteorological data covering the years 2000–2019 was utilised. In order to conduct the trend analysis, the rainfall data was transformed into seasonal and annual rainfall time series. The coefficients of variation for the monsoon season ranged from 83.95% to 15.36%, according to the results. Kamalpur had the highest coefficient of variation during the northeast season at 78.31%, while Kanchanpur had the lowest at 42.38%. There was a notable lack of trend across all sites during the monsoon season. The summer season shows no trend at any of the sites, with the exception of Sabroom, where the slope has decreased significantly. There was also no discernible pattern at any of the stations during the winter. Bishalgarh is the sole station where there is a noticeable decline in yearly rainfall, with a substantial decreasing slope (Z=-2.64, β =-84.1). No such trend was observed for the other stations.
