Abstract

Medicinal mushrooms have been widely recognized for their diverse health benefits, including immune modulation, antioxidant properties, and disease prevention. This study explores the therapeutic potential of various medicinal mushrooms, particularly their applications in poultry production as natural alternatives to antibiotics. The review highlights their bioactive compounds, such as polysaccharides, phenolic compounds, and terpenoids, which contribute to their antibacterial, anticancer, and immunomodulatory effects. Additionally, their nutritional value and metabolic influence on lipid profiles further reinforce their role in human and animal health. The findings emphasize the significance of medicinal mushrooms in promoting immunity, improving production performance, and offering sustainable solutions for health and nutrition. Future research should further investigate their clinical efficacy, explore bioinformatics approaches to identify novel bioactive compounds, and assess their potential in advanced therapeutic applications such as nanomedicine and personalized healthcare.
