India is undertaking most ambitious renewable energy expansion programs globally, aiming to address its energy chal-lenges and meet the growing demands of its fast-developing economy. Renewable energy sources including solar, wind, geothermal, ocean energy, biomass, and fuel cell technologies, offer viable solutions to India’s long-standing energy shortages. With the nation's energy consumption projected to increase significantly, India will need to ensure an energy supply three to four times greater than its current consumption. Through a combination of strategic investments, policy frameworks, and technological advancements, renewable energy stands as a key driver in achieving energy security, sustainability, and economic growth for India.
