Brain glioblastoma contains many mobile proteins between cells and is known to produce peptides with an amine group in particular. This exists in proportion to the degree of malignancy of brain glioblastoma. The Amine,-Amide CEST MRI-based cell-mimetic biodrone proposed in this project is made based on nano-sized (less than 50 nm) amphiphilic cell-mimetic polymersomes with both hydrophobic and hydrophilic spaces, making it biocompatible and reducing the level of brain glioblastoma malignancy (amine group). Detectable in proportion (depending on the amount). It can be used as a contrast agent for Amine-, Amide CEST magnetic resonance imaging that can bind to the amine group present on the tumor surface, and the level of malignancy can be identified and quantified depending on the amount of amine present in the tumor. In addition, due to the characteristics of brain glioblastoma, there is a BBB, and AP2 (Angiopep-2), which can penetrate it, is present on the surface of the biodrone, allowing the biodrone to smoothly pass through the BBB through LRP-1-mediated transcytosis. Inflow is possible. After entering the BBB, the drug is released in response to the cancer cell microenvironment (pH 5.5) of the tumor, maximizing the selective delivery ability of the drug, and this can be quantified through the Amdie group of the drug. Through this, it is believed that it will be possible to monitor the BBB passage rate and the therapeutic effect of the drug by checking the penetration rate of the passed biodrone.
The primary goal of this special issue is to treatment cancer using Bio-drone. We invite contributions that explore cancer micro environment, with particular interest in Nanomedicine
