Children’s literature translation used to be a marginalized topic but is recently drawing increasing attention from scholars. The didactic function and the dual addressee of children's literature (written and published by adults but addressed to young readers) make translating even trickier, but study-worthy on the other hand. At a micro level, scholars can research how a literature’s names, cultural markers and intertextual references are translated. At a macro level, they can also focus on how ideology drives the adaptation and rewriting in translation. Besides, topics such as image-textual interactions of picture books, rewriting of sensitive topics such as death, homosexuality, violence and war in young adult novels are worthy of further discussion. We believe the intensive studies of such topics will shed light on translation strategies, greatly improve children’s literature translation quality and further reveal the essence of translation.
