About This Special Issue
Nanostructured materials have broad wide applications in versatile fields. Therefore the research around the world is being focused on the development of green and eco-friendly methodologies for the synthesis of nananoparticles, thereby enabling their application in catalysis area. Currently, nanocatalysts play very important role in enhancement the selectivity of the reactions by allowing reaction at a lower temperature, reducing or minimizing the formation of side products, higher recovery rate and lower energy consumption. This special issue is concerning on the topic “Green synthesis of nanostructured materials and their catalytic applications”, aiming to present a collection of articles that are related to green synthesis of nanoparticles by using plant extract, ultrasound, microwave, light radiation, etc., and their implementation in catalytic processes. The rational of design approaches of the nanocatalysts such as hybrid nanocomposites or supported nanomaterials to solid support materials (e.g. organic polymers or metal salts) with the aim of the improvement of photoenergy conversion efficiency can also be provided. All researchers working in the topics mentioned above mentioned are cordially invited to contribute original research papers or reviews to this special issue of Modern chemistry. Selected papers will be subject to a peer review process.
Aims and Scope:
- Green synthesis of nanoparticles using plant extracts, ultrasound, microwave or light radiation, etc.
- Immobilization of the nanoparticles onto polymeric materials or inorganic salts.
- Assembly of the nanostructured materials to organic moieties.
- Catalytic application of nanomaterials in organic reactions such as oxidation, reduction, functionalization of organic compounds, etc.
- Catalytic applications towards water splitting and hydrogen production.
- Photocatalytic degradation of environmental pollutants.
