A Preliminary Study of Contrast of Task-based Teaching and Task-supported Teaching

Abstract

Task based approach is still one of the widely used language teaching models from the rise up to now. However, in the process of the implementation of task based teaching, "Pseudo Task-based Teaching", that is, task-supported teaching under the cover of task appeared. This paper firstly introduces the concept of Task-based Teaching, types and application of task, then took a further study on contrast of Task-based Teaching and Task-supported Teaching. The research results show that both of them have their internal relations; the coexistence of them will be a long-term trend of development; the appropriate combination of the two plays a certain role in promoting foreign language teaching.
