Abstract

The coronavirus disease pandemic is a global pandemic affecting mental health and quality of life. This study aimed to determine the mental health and quality of life during the coronavirus disease pandemic among residents in San Isidro, Bohol. The study used a quantitative descriptive survey method and utilized a modified tool designed by Meo et al., Oli Ahmed, and the WHO Quality of Life Scale. A total of 365 respondents 18 years old and above were randomly selected from the 12 barangays of San Isidro, Bohol with a 5% margin of error at a 95% confidence level. Frequency and Percentage, Weighted Mean, Chi-square Test, Spearman's Rho, Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test, and Friedman Test were used to analyze the data. It was found that the level of mental health of the respondents had a fair mental health status and good quality of life. There was a significant degree of relationship between the mental health status and the respondents' quality of life. Also, there was a significant degree of difference between the dimensions of mental health and the degree of variance among the different dimensions of quality of life. It implies that the mental health of the residents during the pandemic affects their quality of life.
