Abstract

Food waste management is a critical issue that affects the environment, economy, and social stability. Women play a vital role in food waste management, but their contributions often go unrecognized. This study explores the role of women in food waste management from a theoretical perspective, drawing on feminist and sociological theories. The study argues that women's roles in food waste management are shaped by social and cultural norms, which can influence their behaviors and attitudes towards food waste (Douglas, 1972). The study also draws on the concept of "care work" (Kabeer, 1994) to highlight the ways in which women's unpaid labor in the home, including food waste management, contributes to the well-being of their families and communities. The study provides a theoretical framework for understanding the role of women in food waste management and highlights the need for further research in this area.
