Electric machines, including all kinds of motors, generators, phase modifiers, etc., are the heart of modern industry. Under the times background of energy conservation and emission reduction, modern civil and industry has proposed the rigid requests of high efficiency, low loss, and good strength for electric machines. Electro-mechanical coupling problem is of great significance since it is one of the bottleneck issues for the design, manufacturing, and the performance properties of electric machines. This special issue “Electro-Mechanical Coupling Problems in Electric Machines” lies in the electrical and the mechanical research subjects, and mainly focuses on the studies in the electro-mechanical coupling related problems. The scope includes but is not limited to the following topics.
(1) Magnetic pull characteristics of different running cases in generators/motors.
(2) Stator/rotor vibration properties of different electric machines.
(3) Stress/strength analysis of key components of electric machines for vehicles.
(4) Heat transfer problems in electric machines.
(5) Vibration signal processing based diagnosis for generators/motors.
(6) End winding forces and consequent responses of large electric machines.
(7) Structure design and manufacturing of electric machines.
(8) Electrical and mechanical fault feature analysis of electric machines.
(9) Reversed optimization based on electrical/mechanical property studies in electric machines.
(10) Multi-physics coupling calculation/simulation for electric machines.
Particularly, electro-mechanical studies about large capacity generators, off-shore wind generators, and high performance motors for transportation utilities are extremely welcomed. Other related investigations are also anticipated. We look forward to your submission.
