Pregnancy is a beautiful phase of a women’s life. A woman faces loads of difficulties and pain in her lifetime and pregnancy related musculoskeletal disorders and perinatal pain are also one of them. Females tend to put on weight, develop backpain, nausea, fatigue, varicose veins, constipation, leg cramps, wrist and ankle swelling, difficulty in getting a good night’s sleep, depression, anxiety, and low self-confidence and body image. Exercises done during the period of pregnancy can help in coping with these problems and increasing body awareness and positive self-image to have a better ability to cope with labor and childbirth for quicker postnatal recovery. Physiotherapy is not only necessary in postnatal period but of utmost importance in antenatal period also to minimize the complications and accelerate healing in postnatal period. The primary goal of this special issue is to not only spread awareness but also dive deeper into the problems that can be solved by physical therapy in pregnant females. We invite contributions that explore physiotherapeutic interventions in pregnant females with particular interest in respiratory and systemic complications that develop during natal period
Types of articles welcomed: Original research articles, review articles, case studies, etc.
Through this special issue, we aim to decrease complications in antenatal and postnatal period to let the new mother enjoy her journey of motherhood. We welcome researchers from various disciplines to provide interdisciplinary perspectives on the Role of Physiotherapy during Motherhood. Your contributions will play a crucial role in advancing knowledge in this field.
