About This Special Issue
Grain drying is an indispensable operation conducted to increase the viability of a crop until a farmer finds a suitable return of the investment. Though it safeguards the stored product, based on the type of drying technique, they sometime have a negative impact on the environment in terms of increased carbon footprint. With the invention of technology, researchers can model the energy and exergy aspect to determine how the drying technique can be made sustainable. Though many works have been covered around lab-based systems, a scientific leap needs to be taken to on-farm scenarios to tackle the real problems. Thus, this special issue will be intended to address this topic on potential ways to make the drying process more sustainable around the on-going processes by including the following:
  1. 1)Innovative technique to model the energy and exergy analysis by undergoing exergoeconomic on farm drying techniques.
  2. 2)Identifying issues with current systems and implement the modelling technique to address the issue and recommend policy considerations.
