About This Special Issue
Mexico has a constant increase of violence that seems unstoppable, unfortunately the most affected are children and teenagers, the manifestation of violence starts at home and continues at school and in the community, manifesting in all areas of Mexican’s lives.
Every day we can see headliners in the media about manifestations of violence more and more severe, the worst part of it is that children and teenagers are the protagonists of this.
Therefore, in this number we present you a radiography of the phenomenon from different points of view to achieve a real diagnosis based on serious research from Higher Educational Institutions and Civil Society Organization, worried to determine where we are standing in matters of violence.
Is it possible for an education of peace in a country with constantly rising levels of violence? We will try to answer this question in our investigation. We will also analyze the law that will allow us to do viable proposals, and psychological and sociologic perspective for children and teenagers as well.
We will work with different alternatives or paths to decrease, or extinct violence. It is not about working with naive arguments or hopes, it’s about making real proposals that come from our experiences and other countries practices that achieve what seemed impossible, that is a way to relate with empathy and care for each other, because it depends on us to make it possible.
