About This Special Issue
This special issue considers publishing full research articles that review the development of plasma sources and diagnostics systems based on the plasma sources pressure values and the applicability of suitable plasma diagnostic techniques for these plasma sources. Two historical review articles on this topic will be selected as opening review articles. The first review article will discuss the historical development of plasma sources based on the source pressure values. The second review article will discuss the historical development of plasma diagnostic techniques used across all pressure values in relevant plasma systems. Then, a section that includes articles describing the modern understanding of the underlying science of plasma sources and corresponding diagnostic tools based on changes of sources pressure values will follow. Of interest, is examining the effect of pressure changes on a system of an ideal gas compared to the behaviour of plasma, as a gaseous charged medium, when pressure changes. Research on the types of plasma sources classified across the pressure value ranges (low-pressure, atmospheric pressure to high-pressure plasma sources) will be considered. Contributions on relevant advances on the technological applications of plasma sources and diagnostic tools based on manipulating plasma sources pressure values will be considered. This will include contributions that review classic and modern techniques to control and gauge pressures in plasma sources. In addition, a special segment discussing the effect of pressure on the plasma component of the space and earth weather systems will be included.
Aims and Scope:
  1. Physical plasma
  2. Ideal gas
  3. Low pressure plasma sources
  4. Atmospheric pressure plasma sources
  5. High pressure plasma sources
  6. Plasma diagnostics
  7. Vacuum pumps & gauges
  8. Space and earth weather systems
