About This Special Issue
This text proposes to take the Lacanian propositions about the capitalist discourse to interrogate: what place does the contemporary subject occupy in this discourse? What effects does this discourse have on the subject? In the expectation of trying to answer these questions, the study seeks theoretical foundations in the works of Freud and Lacan. Capitalist discourse is presented as a slip of the master's discourse, as a discourse that does not make social ties, forcows castration. His matema shows how the two imperatives of enjoyment - "produce!" And "consume!" - operate in this discourse, and highlights the effects they elicit in the consumer subject.
This proposal stems from the observation that the gadgets produced by the capitalist discourse are selled to the subjects as a promise of full happiness, thus provoking a devastating consumption in society. This make us think about the influence of capitalism on the subject and how society, drowned by this discourse, is inserted and experiencing this relationship between subject and object: their causes, relationships and outcomes.
This association, described in Psychoanalysis by Lacan's discourses brings the tendency of change of the subject's conection, no longer direct to the Other, but now orientate to the object of consumption. This shift brings a tireless and fallible search for completeness.
