About This Special Issue
The special issue “Microbial biotechnology and applications” aims at publishing researches on understanding key aspects of microbial biology with environmental, medical and industrial biotechnology. It is also open to researches based on several complementary aspects of microbial biology, with approaches that include molecular genetics, genomics and proteomics. Reviews and reports by the researchers are involved in this rapidly developing area. This issue focuses on the role of microorganisms in biotechnological applications.
Aim and Scope:
1. Environmental applicatios: Removal of toxic materials such as textile dye, heavy metals, and pesticides by microorganisms in wastewater treatment technologies (bioaccumulation, biosorption, biodegredation and bioremediation).
2. Medical applications: Production of recombinant vaccines and antibiotics, antimicrobial activity
3. Energy: Biogas, biodiesel and bioethanol production by microorganisms.
4. Isolation of new microbial strains for biotechnological applications.
5. Reuse of waste microbial biomass from bioreactors in biotechnological applications.
