About This Special Issue
Telecommunications include all of the necessary technical resources to as faithful and reliable routing of information between two points, as accurate and reliable as possible, with lower costs. The development of modern communications systems, involves mastering the optoelectronic devices and radio and optimization of the representation of the information in digital form. The signal processing allows adapting the information to the transmission medium and restoring it after receiving.

Technological development joined with the establishment of advanced signal processing techniques have enabled telecommunications systems to invade a wide range of areas of daily life ranging from Wired telephony to satellite communication. Applications of telecommunication systems cover many axes, namely: telephoning, wired and wireless networks, satellite communications, identification of objects (RFID), telemedicine, IPTV... We invite researchers to publish their original work on the applications of telecommunications systems. A particular interest is devoted to cognitive radio which is aimed to the optimal use of the spectrum by addressing the high demand for the resource "frequency".

Aims and Scope

Topics of interest of this special issue include, but not limited to:
1. Advanced signal processing techniques for telecommunications (coding, shaping filter, modulation, compression...)
2. Wired and wireless networks
3. Telemedicine
4. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
5. Cognitive Radio
