Abstract: Bell's palsy is a facial paralysis that affects one side of the face accompanied with facial weakness. The condition is less common in children, but if it appears the possible causes are trauma, infections, tumor, inflammation or it may be idiopathic. In the 8 year old treated patient the condition appeared because of stressful situation, experiencing dreadful fright. The facial muscle weakness was present on the left side of the face with inability to close the eye and drooped corner of the mouth. Before coming to our clinic doctors prescribed him Neurobion, Amoksiklav and Acyclovir, but none of the medications helped him. Five days after the situation we started the acupuncture treatment in our clinic for Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. Treatments were done once weekly, with duration of 35-40 minutes, indoor. After 10 treatments the function of the facial muscles recovered completely, with normal muscle tone, full range of motion and no accompanying symptoms. In the treatment were used acupuncture points located on the meridians of Dumai, Liver, Stomach and Large Intestine. Acupuncture as part of the 5000 years old Traditional Chinese Medicine is very effective treatment and gave very fast and positive results in our pediatric patient with Bell's palsy, improving the condition fully.

Abstract: The objective of present investigation is to investigate antidiarrheal potential of Adenanthera pavonina seed aqueous extract (APSAE) in experimental animals. The APSAE was administered orally to three groups of animals (six per group) in order to investigate activity against castor oil and magnesium sulphate-induced diarrhoea in rats. The effect of extract on gastrointestinal transit using charcoal and castor oil induced enteropooling was assessed using Loperamide 3mg/kg was used as reference standard. Oral administration of APSAE at doses 50,100 and 200 mg/kg exhibited dose-dependent significant (P<0.05) antidiarrheal potential against castor oil and magnesium sulphate-induced diarrhoea in rats. APSAE also produced significant (P<0.05) reduction in propulsive movement in castor oil-induced gastrointestinal transit using charcoal meal in rats when compared with reference standard Loperamide. These findings demonstrate that Adenanthera pavonina seed aqueous extract shows significant antidiarrhoeal potential, thus justifying its traditional use in diarrhoea.

Abstract: Hyperthyroidism is one of the most common disorders of the thyroid gland, which occurs as a result of too much secretion of the thyroid hormones by the thyroid gland. The usual symptoms are: increased appetite, anxiety, tiredness, insomnia, hair loss, weakness in the muscles, diarrhea, weight loss, changes in the menstrual cycle and etc. According to the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) the condition may appear due Liver fire, Qi and Yin deficiency, phlegm stagnation or Heart, Kidney and Liver deficiency. With the acupuncture treatment it's not treated just the thyroid but the whole body, promoting the health, improving the energy flow through the whole body, boosting the immune system and removing all blockages in the pathways. The treated patients is a 41 year old woman, diagnosed with hyperthyroidism for 9 years. The results from the blood analysis before the treatments showed high T3 (Triiodothyronine) and low TPO (Thyroperoxidase) levels and after the treatment all parameters were in normal range. The patient has done 10 treatments, one treatment every week within three months, with duration of the treatments 35-40 minutes. Treatments were done in a clinic for TCM and acupuncture in Skopje, Macedonia, by a doctor specialist in acupuncture. With the acupuncture treatment was succeeded to get positive results and improve the health condition for a very short time by regulating the hormone levels, diminishing the symptoms and recovering the body balance.

Abstract: The present study was performed to assess the antioxidant capacity of different doses of Zingiber officinale extract and its efficacy in alleviating the biochemical alterations induced by aluminum chloride in rabbits. Twenty-eight male rabbits were allocated into four groups (7 rabbits in each); Group I: served as normal control, Group II: treated with aluminum chloride (AlCl3) (150 mg/kg body weight), Group III: treated with AlCl3 and Zingiber officinale extract (100mg/kg. bw) and Group IV: treated with AlCl3 and Zingiber officinale extract (200mg/kg. bw). Rabbits in groups III and IV were orally treated daily with Zingiber officinale extract for 4 weeks. Aluminum exposure caused a significant elevation of BUN, creatinine, lipid profile, ALT, ALP, TNF-α, and amylase activity. All these parameters showed the reverse trend following oral Zingiber officinale treatment. Aluminum exposure showed a significant decrease in hepatic GSH and catalase activity. Treatment with Zingiber officinale extract significantly reversed aluminum effects, in the level of GSH content and hepatic catalase activity. Zingiber officinale is effective in alleviating the oxidative stress and inflammation and is thus effective in improving lipid profile and hepatotoxicity and nephrotoxicity in AlCl3 administration.

Abstract: In this review, we show that contaminated money and coins are a public health risk when associated with the simultaneous handling of food, and currency may spread nosocomial infections. The currency circulating in different parts of the world could serve as a vehicle for transmission of drug resistant pathogenic or potential organisms and contamination could be due to currency usage and handling as mint notes were not contaminated. Cotton-based banknotes provide a fibrous surface, which provides ample opportunity for bacterial attachment Therefore, hygienic measures such as thorough hand washing with soap after using currency notes and ATM machine should be observed and the practice of keeping money in shoes and socks and under the carpets should be discouraged. Further, we should avoid the use of saliva during counting of currency notes as well as desist from placing money in the mouth and biting off corners of currency notes. Moreover, ready-to- eat food sellers should be educated to avoid possible cross contamination between currency notes and the food they sell. The most common isolated bacteria were bacillus. klebsellia. E. coli. Staph. aureus,. pseudmonus, Streto. fecales. Enterobacter, Macrococus. This study showed that the most contaminated bill denomination were those of low denomination (1,2 SDG). Notes obtained from Cafeterias and Drivers showed the highest rate of bacterial contamination.
